Take A Sneak Peak of the New Int'l Plaza

EVOLUTION OF CLASSIC ORLANDO VACATION TAKES SHAPE AT PREMIER INTERNATIONAL PLAZA RESORT & SPA

ORLANDO, Fla. – In the heart of one of the world's most popular destinations, located directly across the street from Seaworld's new Aquatica waterpark, a newly redefined vacation experience is quickly unfolding. Orlando's premier International Plaza Resort & Spa is undergoing a dramatic, multimillion-dollar makeover to emerge as a warm and tranquil travel oasis. Soon, International Plaza Resort & Spa will reveal the newest chapter in its 25-year history in Central Florida.

STEP BACK IN TIME
A longtime lodging landmark for visitors to Central Florida, International Plaza Resort & Spa was formerly known as the Sheraton World Orlando Resort. The hotel opened in 1982, only 11 years after Walt Disney World established Central Florida as one of America's premier destinations. With its ideal proximity to SeaWorld and the Orlando Convention Center, the 28-acre resort quickly became one of the area's leading centers for leisure and business travelers, with more than 1,100 rooms and more than 60,000 square feet of meeting space.

By 2006, however, the Sheraton World Orlando Resort was in need of an update to accommodate the changing expectations of a new generation of Orlando visitors.

The property was acquired in September, 2006, by Buena Vista Hospitality Group, one of America's leading international resort development and management companies, and its joint venture partner, UrbanAmerica, a national real estate private equity firm. Its owners immediately began a multimillion-dollar renovation that would span all areas of the resort, including guest rooms, event space, dining and recreation areas. International Plaza Resort & Spa would remain open throughout the ongoing transformation, with enhancements to take place in three phases through 2008.

Throughout the process, the newly renamed International Plaza Resort & Spa would be transformed into a luxurious, destination hotel - a serene and inviting escape from the hubbub of theme parks and business outside its enclave.

TRANSFORMATIONS UNDERWAY
Signs of progress are apparent from the moment visitors are welcomed by the resort's peaceful ambiance.

Inspired by the tropical island of Bali, International Plaza Resort & Spa's extensive renovation showcases native dark woods and bamboo furnishings, as well as soothing color palates, natural water features, Indonesian stone ceramics and a lush, tropical landscape.  The resort's natural landscape offers a variety of environments throughout the 28-acre property, allowing guests to create their own personalized vacation experience without feeling confined to a single area of the resort. Visitors can seek quiet solace in a palm-shaded hammock, or enjoy quality time with family and friends on the putting green or in one of several intimate gathering spaces. All three pool areas have also been enhanced with interactive water features, secluded relaxation areas and natural brick paver-lined sundecks and walkways.

SUITE EXPECTATIONS
International Plaza Resort & Spa will unveil its first 120 remodeled rooms in mid-February, offering guests their first glimpse of the resort's luxurious, new look and feel. The remaining rooms are slated for completion later this year.

As part of the resort's ongoing makeover, International Plaza Resort & Spa will offer three distinct model floor plans featuring Balinese-inspired furnishings and state-of-the-art amenities, including the Double and King Resort rooms, as well as the One Bay suite.  This spacious, two-bedroom suite will feature a full kitchen, separate guest bath and spacious dining and living areas.

Each room's interior design will exude a warm and tranquil ambiance, featuring hardwood floors, granite countertops, fine bedding and linens, a mahogany workstation with ergonomic desk chair, and sleek, contemporary bathrooms with sliding bamboo panels for privacy. State-of-the-art amenities will also include flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet access, iPod® receptive radio, an in-room refrigerator, microwave oven and more.

LOOKING AHEAD
Visitors can look forward many more upcoming enhancements to International Plaza Resort & Spa, from signature dining options to state-of-the-art meeting facilities equipped with the latest business services and amenities. Answering the call for rest and relaxation, a full-service day spa will offer the latest techniques in rejuvenating spa treatments, from deep tissue massages and facials to custom manicures, pedicures and aromatherapy.
